Two Hospitalized After Early Morning Shooting in Springfield

Crime Trackers Massachusetts is closely monitoring an overnight shooting investigation that unfolded in Springfield during the early morning hours.

Just after 2:30 a.m., a ShotSpotter activation detected approximately 14 rounds of gunfire in the area of Marlborough Street. Shortly thereafter, two gunshot victims were located in the area of Collins Street and Logan Street. Based on preliminary information, one victim sustained a gunshot wound to the back, while a second victim suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. Both victims received emergency medical treatment at the scene before being transported for further care.

Crime Trackers Massachusetts commends the Massachusetts State Police Troopers, Springfield Police officers, and AMR ambulance personnel for their rapid response to this violent incident. Their swift actions in securing the scene, rendering emergency medical care, and beginning the investigation demonstrate the professionalism and dedication of the first responders who continue to put themselves in harm’s way to protect the residents of the Commonwealth.
