The Basic Massachusetts Police Recruit Preparation Program is a preparatory training program and is not certified by the Massachusetts Police Training Committee (MPTC). Completion of this program does not grant police powers, certification, or eligibility for appointment as a police officer.
Participation in this program does not guarantee employment, sponsorship, or acceptance into a Massachusetts Police Academy. The program is intended solely to prepare participants for academy training and to develop foundational skills, discipline, and readiness.
Firearms training conducted during the program is instructional and preparatory in nature and is conducted in compliance with Massachusetts and federal laws. Participants must meet all legal requirements for possession and handling of firearms.
Participation in all physical training, scenario-based exercises, drill instruction, and defensive tactics is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk. Participants must sign all required liability waivers prior to training. The program, its instructors, and affiliated organizations are not responsible for injuries, accidents, or illnesses that occur during participation.
Program administration reserves the right to modify schedules, training content, policies, and program requirements at any time. Admission to the program may be denied or revoked at the discretion of program leadership.
Participants are required to comply with all federal, state, and local laws at all times. Violations of the law or program rules may result in immediate dismissal from the program.
Completion of this program does not confer any legal authority, law enforcement powers, or certification and does not substitute for formal Massachusetts Police Academy training.
