Crime Trackers Massachusetts congratulates the newest members of the Boston Police Department Command Staff following the recent promotions announced by Mayor Michelle Wu and Police Commissioner Michael Cox.
The promotion of a new Superintendent to lead the Bureau of Field Services, two new Deputy Superintendents, and seven Captains who will oversee several neighborhood District Stations represents an important moment for leadership within the department. These roles are critical to ensuring strong supervision, accountability, and effective policing across the city’s neighborhoods.
We especially recognize the historic significance of two female Lieutenants being promoted to Captain and taking command of district stations. Throughout the history of the Boston Police Department, opportunities for women in command positions have been limited, and seeing two women rise to lead district stations at the same time is both meaningful and encouraging. It is particularly fitting that this milestone comes during Women’s History Month, a time dedicated to recognizing the achievements and contributions of women in all fields, including public safety.
The Captains stepping into these leadership positions will be responsible for guiding officers and working closely with the communities they serve in District A-7 in East Boston, B-2 in Roxbury, C-11 in Dorchester, D-14 in Brighton/Allston, E-5 in West Roxbury, and E-13 in Jamaica Plain. Each of these districts plays a vital role in the safety and well-being of Boston residents, and strong leadership at the district level is essential to maintaining trust, responding to community concerns, and supporting officers in the field.
Crime Trackers Massachusetts recognizes the dedication and years of service required to reach these leadership roles. Promotions within law enforcement reflect not only professional achievement but also a commitment to protecting the public, mentoring younger officers, and strengthening relationships between police and the communities they serve.

We congratulate all of the newly promoted leaders and wish them success as they take on the responsibility of guiding their officers and continuing the important work of keeping Boston’s neighborhoods safe. We also extend our appreciation to the many sworn officers and civilian members of the department who work every day to serve the residents of Boston with professionalism and dedication.
Leadership transitions are an opportunity to move forward with renewed focus, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact these leaders will have in their new roles across the city.
